Can I get SkillPASS training?

Do SkillPASS cards expire?

Yes.

A SkillPASS card has an annual renewal requirement. To maintain a SkillPASS account, an annual renewal fee of $30

Any SkillPASS account that is not renewed will be inaccessible. Access to a SkillPASS account can be re-activated by paying the renewal fee of $30 ex GST.

A SkillPASS card is active for five years, after which you will need to pay to receive a new card.

Can employees work while their card is in transit?

Yes.

Sites and employers can access information held on the SkillPASS system using an individual SkillPASS card number and the individual’s date of birth. If a SkillPASS card is in transit, the SkillPASS process will be completed and all information available in the system.

How do I assign competencies to employee records?

Contractors or their company representative must provide details of employee competencies through the SkillPASS registration portal. These competencies will then be verified by the Energy Skills Queensland SkillPASS Administration team within 24hours.

You can add a new competency or provide updated information on an existing competency by logging into the SkillPASS portal and uploading the relevant documentation as evidence.

What format and size should my file be?

All documentary files and evidence should be in PDF or JPG format and be no larger than 2MB in size.

The employee SkillPASS registration was rejected. What is the next step?

Energy Skills Queensland reserves the right to reject applications for a SkillPASS card.

If a SkillPASS application has been rejected, you will be provided reasons why the application was rejected via email. It is the companies responsibility to rectify the issue and resubmit the relevant documentation.

How do I order a replacement for a lost damages or stolen card?

You can request a new card on by logging in to the SkillPASS Registration portal and following the ‘Replacement Card’ instructions.

The lost/damaged/stolen card will be de-activated as part of the replacement process to ensure others are not able to access project sites using another person’s SkillPASS card.

If the SkillPASS card is found after a request for replacement has been submitted, please ensure the SkillPASS card is destroyed as it will no longer be active.

A fee of $45 ex GST is charged to reprint and deliver replacement cards.

How will I receive my card?

All cards will be delivered via Australia Post Registered Post.

The card will be delivered to the nominated shipping address provided in the SkillPASS application process. It is up to the company to distribute SkillPASS cards to their employees.

How much does SkillPASS cost?

An upfront cost for the SkillPASS card is $65 ex GST and must be paid prior to your card being delivered to you.

A renewal requirement of $30 ex GST must be paid annually to maintain your SkillPASS account.

You or your company will be notified one month prior to the anniversary date that the renewal fee is due.

What happens if my yearly renewal fee is not paid?

If you do not pay the $30 ex GST annual renewal fee, your SkillPASS will be de-activated. This means that you will not be able to use your SkillPASS card for proof of competency or to gain access to site.

You can renew your access at any time by paying the renewal fee of $30 ex GST.

Who pays for the SkillPASS card?

In most cases, your company will be responsible for payment of SkillPASS cards.

If you are a sole trader, you will register your ABN details and pay for the card individually.

What if I forget or lose my password?

If you have forgotten your password, please click the ‘Forgot my Password’ link on the SkillPASS portal login page to receive a new password in an email.

If you do not know or have not received your SkillPASS Mobile App login details, please contact your company SkillPASS administrator.

How long does it take for SkillPASS to verify uploaded documentation?

Uploaded documentation will be verified within 4 business hours. Business hours are 8.30am to 5pm (Excluding Queensland public holidays and weekends)

What training do my employees need to do?

SkillPASS provides a booking system for training. The decision on what training to register employees in rests with the company making bookings for training

How do I apply for a SkillPASS?

To apply for a card, you must ensure that the company you work for is registered first. To register your company click here.

If you are not currently employed, you can still apply for a SkillPASS. To do so, you must comply with payment requirements to activate your SkillPASS. Your account will reside under the banner of ‘Energy Skills Queensland Holdings’ until you are employed.

Who do I contact if I have questions or problems regarding my SkillPASS application?

Questions can be directed to your employer or SkillPASS Administration member within your company.

Does my SkillPASS expire?

Your SkillPASS has an annual renewal requirement. To maintain your SkillPASS account, you will be required to pay a $30 ex GST renewal fee.

If you choose not to renew your SkillPASS account, your information will be inaccessible. You can renew your access at any time by paying the renewal fee of $30 ex GST.

What if I am between employers?

Your details will be maintained in the SkillPASS system without a nominated employer.  You can add your new employer to your profile when you become employed.

You can add your new employer to your profile when you complete an Employee Transfer Request Form. Please seek further assistance from SkillPASS administration regarding this process. – something along those lines. Because with that form, both the applicant and new employer will need to fill out the one form, sign, add copy of ID, etc.

How do I add competencies to my record?

You must provide competency details and documentary evidence to your SkillPASS Administrator.  Alternatively, you can upload the information and documentary evidence to the SkillPASS system using the SkillPASS app.

I cannot complete the web-based training. What do I do?

SkillPASS web-based training works most effectively with the compatible web browsers as outlined in the email you would have received that provided you with the training link. Please re-open the training link using the compatible web browser.

What do I do if my web-based training link does not work?

If your web-based training link does not work, please contact the Energy Skills Queensland SkillPASS Administration team via email at admin@skillpass.com.au to have a new training link sent to you.

Who do I contact to book training?

To book training, please contact your nominated SkillPASS Administrator who can book your training and make the necessary payment. If you are unsure who your company SkillPASS Administrator is, please contact the Energy Skills Queensland SkillPASS Administration team via email at admin@skillpass.com.au. .

How do I get login details to see what competencies are on my profile?

The Energy Skills Queensland SkillPASS Administration team are able to send your password to access your profile through the SkillPASS App. Please contact them via email at admin@skillpass.com.au.

How do I scan my SkillPASS card?
